Hunting Down Under (Part One)

André Georgescu - Producer / Director of Whistling with Foxes, and Face-to-Face with the great white shark, presents to you, Hunting Down Under (Part One).

Since the release of Whistling with Foxes, in 1995, Australia's firearms laws have changed dramatically. In this video, André explains why the laws have changed and runs through some of the major changes. As well as what type of Firearms are available to the sporting shooter and hunter today. He then takes you on an action packed hunting adventure.

Once of André Georgescu's notable achievements is the development of his own unique fox-whistle. This video demonstrates how effective the whistle is, in calling in foxes from very long distances

Foxes on the run

Some farmers in South Australia hunt foxes at night, by pursuing them in a pickup with a skilled driver, a spot-lighter, and two shooters using 12 gauge shotguns. This segment shows you how effective and exciting this method of pest control can be. All I can say is :- "Hold on to your seat !"

One-to-One

Before the protection of the great white shark in South Australia in 1998. Renowned as a professional fisherman and shark hunter, André has been asked on numerous occasions to remove problem great whites from recreational fishing and diving areas. His equipment was simply, just himself, and a rope line and hook. Making him the only person in Australia to have used this dangerous method. In the words of André - "I've caught sharks on rod and reel but its nothing compared to the rush you get from hand-lining them. Imagine the rope tearing through your hands at 100 mph, and feeling the awesome power of a big white pointer. Knowing that one little mistake could mean either my arm being ripped off or worse, pulled into the deep blue sea and being eaten alive."

Dogs down Holes

Meet a true blue Aussie - Mr Bert Matthew. Bert has been hunting rabbits and foxes in Australia for 55 years. And a beef/dairy farmer for 25 years. Bert shows us the art of using his little terrier dogs to flush foxes from their dens. Unfortunately the filming of this segment was cut short because a large fox latched onto André's hand forcing him to seek medical attention. André says "It's not easy to film with a fox hanging off your hand!". Just have a look.

Outback Bound!!!

Here André and his professional driver and good mate for 22 years Sean Johnson are called in to cull a large number of foxes pestering a sheep station in the Gawler Rangers. Watch the adventure unfold as they averaged 40 foxes a night over 6 nights and in one of those nights bagged 53. André also shows you how to halt a fox under the spotlight with various vocal sounds to gain that one shot kill. He also gives away some tricks of the trade to help the keen Fox Shooter.
